National Watercolor Society
Initially conceived in 1920, the National Watercolor Society brings before the public the best of water media painting, representing a wide range of directions and technique, from experimental to traditional and encourages support for watercolor as a vital, enduring and expressive medium. Founded as the California Water Color Society, the name of the society has changed twice: first in 1967, to California National Watercolor Society; then in 1975, when the members voted to become simply the National Watercolor Society. The goals of the National Watercolor Society are to encourage interest and excellence in watermedia paintings by providing quality exhibitions and to act as an educational channel to pertinent information, exhibition opportunities, and beneficial programs to artists and their public. In addition, NWS sponsors programs to encourage and assist education in the arts.

I can’t imagine using any other brand of paint. This is very highly pigmented and the minimal amount of binder. Since I prefer plein air, this is perfect for me. And the number of single-pigment paints are pretty amazing. Michigan has been pretty wet this year so far so the paints haven’t dried out as much as they normally would. You can’t go wrong with this brand.
